HOLY BAPTISM
Graham Preuss, infant son of Daniel and Morgan Preuss, will receive the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit as he is baptized in the 10:30am worship service Sunday. We rejoice with the Preuss family and pray that God will keep this precious lamb in his baptismal grace always.
SCHOOL NEWS
School/church grounds clean-up is happening today, right after the 10:30 worship service. If anyone can help today, please stay after the service. If you can’t help today but could lend a hand with some of the tasks later this week, please talk to Becky Downing or Rachel Preston, or call the church office this week. We would be so thankful if everything was spiffed up and ready for the start of school.
Panther Parents are sponsoring an end of summer pool party at the Hillsboro swimming pool on August 27 from 4-7pm. Pizza and drinks are provided. Please RSVP by August 24 (you can find the RSPV Google doc on the Panther Parents Facebook page).
September is just around the corner. School begins on Tuesday, September 2 and begins with an opening worship service at 8:05am. All family, friends and members are invited to attend this worship service as we gather to praise God for his faithfulness in sustaining our school for 145 years and to ask his blessing on another school year to come.
SUNDAY SCHOOL BEGINS SEPTEMBER 7
Sunday School will begin on September 7 and will be held at the Hillsboro campus. If you have a child that you would like to come, please let Pastor Limpert know.
NEW BIBLE STUDY SERIES BEGINS SEPTEMBER 7
Adult Bible Study will kick off its fall schedule beginning with a study of the Council of Nicaea and its Creed: a 1700-Year History. Bible Study takes place at both churches at 9:15 every Sunday. You are invited to come and join others as we grow in knowledge of God’s word. A schedule of topics is included as an insert today.
PRE–CALL MEETING
We will be holding a pre-call meeting with Pastor Mike Jensen, our district president, before extending another call for associate pastor in order to reassess what qualifications we are seeking in candidates. This meeting will take place on September 9 at 6:00pm at the Wonewoc campus.
