Announcements: November 9
IN LOVING MEMORY
Flowers on the altar at the Wonewoc campus are given in memory of Lucas Lankey by Gus & Julie Smallwood & family.
QUARTERLY CONGREGATIONAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
New members were received: Tony & Judy Trebatoski (transfer from Cross of Christ, Portage); Keith Trost (transfer from St. Matthew’s, Ontario); Nichole Preuss (profession of faith).
Progress on getting the early childhood center through the state certification process continues, along with hiring of staff.
Todd Stittleburg was elected as a Trustee to replace Tom Wolfe, who has reached his term limit. An additional nominee to the Trustees is still needed. Ben Preston was elected to the Cemetery Committee. Additional nominees are also needed for this committee. A recall meeting will be held November 30 to elect for these positions.
The Congregational Mission Offering goal for 2026 was set at $22,000. These offerings are sent to support the work of our synod.
Members who attend the National Conference on Lutheran Leadership may have the $300 registration fee paid by the congregation. This will come from Undesignated Funds.
We will be working with a consulting group to assess our ministry and help the congregation develop a long-range plan. This will be done either through WELS Congregational Services or Grace in Action (a WELS-affiliated consulting group).
Plans to call a second pastor will remain on-hold until after the ministry assessment and long-range plan are completed.
It was also decided to maintain the current weekly service schedule while the ministry consultation is ongoing. Discussion of potential changes can be revisited following the assessment and development of a long-range plan.
CHURCH STEEPLE CLEANING—NOVEMBER 15
There is a work day on November 15, beginning at 8:00am to clean out the clock tower/steeple at the Wonewoc Campus. We could use all hands on deck as it is a BIG undertaking. Bring shop vacs, 5 gal buckets, brooms, dust masks and wear old clothes. This is in preparation for some repair work in that area.
CANTATA PRACTICE
Anyone who is interested in singing for the cantata on Christmas Eve should meet at 6:30pm on Sundays at the Wonewoc Campus. The practices will run about 90 minutes and then Sr. Choir practice will practice at 8:00pm. No Monday practices for Sr. Choir.
SONS OF GOD MEN’S GROUP
A new group event for men, from the youngest to the oldest, met for the first time on November 5, 6:30pm at the Wonewoc Campus. Plans are to meet every other week, so check the calendar in the bulletin. This will be a time for fellowship, brotherly encouragement, and digging into Scripture together as we serve and support one another to live out our calling as Sons of God. Talk to Pastor or any of the Elders for more information.
ADVENT BY CANDLELIGHT
Advent by Candlelight is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, in the Wonewoc Campus church basement. Advent by Candlelight is a beautiful, quiet, reflective event just for women to focus their hearts on the birth of the Savior who brings us salvation and peace before the busy Christmas season. There will be a luncheon and program beginning at 12:00pm. We are looking for table hostesses to decorate a table and provide a light dish or dessert for the meal. This event is for all ladies of any age. Moms will school age daughters are especially encouraged to attend. There are sign-up sheets in back if you are interested or contact Jan Fick or Jessica Limpert for more information. We would like to have a rough idea of those interested in attending or hosting by November 23.
POINSETTIA PRE ORDER
If anyone is interested in having a poinsettia on the altar in memory of a loved one for Christmas, order forms from Blossoms and Bouquets are in the back of the church. Order by November 27 for discounted savings. Please make checks out to Blossoms and Bouquets and place them in the friendship sheet box in the back of church along with the order form.
